Kathie Lee Gifford brought down the house with her inspirational speech at the annual Citymeals on Wheels Power Lunch for Women — but the “Today” host was later overheard at the event telling a guest that she doesn’t write down her speeches.
When the impressed guest said Gifford’s words were “straight from the heart,” we hear that devout Gifford said, “They were straight from Jesus!”
A spy said of the speech, “Jane Krakowski and many others were in tears.”
Later, “at the end of the luncheon there was a huge line for the ladies’ room and all the women were telling Gifford what an amazing job she did,” said the spy.
Gifford had a plane to catch and “everyone was offering her their place in line.” But “she graciously declined,” we hear, explaining to the crowd, “I don’t want to read about myself on Page Six!”
We reported this month that at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund awards, an assistant for Vogue boss Anna Wintour scoped out the lavatory and asked if there was a line “because Anna was coming in.”
The fashion maven was allowed to cut.
