Savannah Guthrie‘s road to the altar wasn’t as smooth as one might think.
The “Today” show co-anchor revealed on Tuesday’s episode that she broke up with Mike Feldman hours before he proposed in 2013.
“We did break up on the day that we got engaged,” revealed Guthrie, who ultimately married Feldman on March 14, 2014 (via E! News).
Guthrie and Feldman had been vacationing in Turks and Caicos when she “broke up with him in the morning and got engaged in the afternoon,” but she didn’t reveal the cause of the brief breakup.
“That’s a quick comeback,” co-anchor Al Roker teased.
“It really was,” Guthrie responded.
Now happily married, Guthrie and Feldman are parents to two children: 4-year-old daughter Vale and 1-year-old son Charley.
