Mohamed Hadid shows off $50K Hermès Birkin bag painted with daughter Bella’s face

Mohamed Hadid is one proud parent — so much so that he’s apparently willing to drop $50,000 on a bag painted with his daughter Bella Hadid‘s face.

The architect, 69, posted a picture on Instagram of a custom Hermés Birkin bag on Sunday. “The Magical Eye of Bella @bellahadid acrylic on python skin treated and varnished,” he wrote.

It’s unclear whether Hadid commissioned the personalized purse as a present for his daughter, who turned 22 on October 9, or whether he simply stumbled upon the design while browsing online. Similar bags start at around $50,000, but often fetch much more at auction.

Customizing one of the world’s most expensive and sought-after handbags has become something of a celebrity status symbol. For Kim Kardashian’s 34th birthday, Kanye West had a then 16-month-old North West finger-paint on a pricey Kelly bag from Hermés, while Kris Jenner once gifted Kylie Jenner with a Louis Vuitton bag painted with a custom portrait of the momager herself.
