Cardi B says her Fashion Nova collection is ‘so corporate and poppin”

Cardi B could buy designer, but this Fashion Nova fit.

And after months of anticipation, the rapper’s capsule collection with the fast fashion e-commerce site is finally set to launch on November 15.

Cardi, 26, spoke with Business of Fashion about her forthcoming line and relationship with the company, which she described as “like a friendship” — a friendship that pays her $20,000 a month to model the brand’s wares, that is.

“Every little detail to me matters,” the “Be Careful” singer said. “I want to make these women look so happy — so radiant, sexy, so corporate and poppin’. I want them to look like they’re wearing Gucci and Prada, but they’re not, they’re wearing my line.”

The collection marks the brand’s first collaboration with a celebrity, and will consist of 80 looks “including suiting, blouses, dresses, outerwear, denim, knitwear and accessories,” ranging in size from junior to curve with an average price point of $40.

This won’t be the last thing Cardi designs for the company, either. “I definitely want to branch out into shoes. I love shoes. I have a big fetish for shoes,” she said. “And I want to be able to design what I want for my daughter to wear.”
