Mohamed Hadid drops lawsuit against rape accuser

The father of Gigi, Bella and Anwar Hadid has dropped his defamation lawsuit against a model who accused him of rape.

Miranda Vee claimed Mohamed Hadid invited her to a professional meeting that turned out to be “just me, him & champagne where he date raped me in a [sic] apartment.” Hadid, 69, told TMZ the story was completely “untrue.” He sued for unspecified damages for defamation, civil extortion and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Recently, however, Hadid filed court documents revealing he is dropping the entire lawsuit, according to The Blast. He accused Vee of having “continuously dodged service” of the lawsuit.

“Because it is apparent that Miranda Vasquez is a liar and is insolvent,” he continued, “and her allegations are fabricated, there is little point to serving her when she is actively dodging service and her counsel will not accept service on her behalf.”

Hadid is dismissing the case without prejudice so he can file again at a later date if he chooses.

“We are pleased that Mr. Hadid dropped his lawsuit against Miranda Vee,” Vee’s attorney, Lisa Bloom, told Page Six in a statement. “She never responded to the suit because he never served her with the lawsuit.”
