Gloria Allred’s roast at the Friars Club ‘brought the house down’

When power women’s rights lawyer Gloria Allred was roasted at the Friars Club in Manhattan on Thursday, the results were “filthy and hilarious,” a guest said — as the tables were turned and the dais was filled by all women (in pantsuits) for the first time ever.

A guest told us roastmaster Judy Gold “pointed out Harvey Weinstein was originally supposed to be roasted this year. So she would open with the joke she would’ve opened with on him: ‘Nice tits.’ That brought the house down.”

There were jokes galore about the men Allred has brought cases against.

“One joke was about trying to teach Gloria how to use Tinder,” said the spy. “Gloria swipes and says, ‘Sued him, sued him, sued him, sued him, sued him, sued him.’”

Other roastwomen included Joanna Cassidy, Robin Tyler, Chanel Ali, Lainie Kazan, Maddy Smith, Lauren Frost, Aby James and Cat Greenleaf.

Also there were Helen Hunt, Fran Drescher and Allred’s lawyer-daughter Lisa Bloom, to whom Gold quipped, “Lisa, you look pale. Have you been standing in Gloria’s shadow too long?”

Allred, the first female Friars Club member in LA, recalled how she “famously sued and won her case to be allowed to use the facilities,” said our source.

“She wanted to use the steam room. The men were adamantly against it, because they wanted to be naked in it. After winning, she put on a 1890s-style bathing suit — covered from neck to knees — and approached the door of the steam room. She knocked and announced herself, then entered holding a measuring stick and singing ‘Is That All There Is?’

“She said men grabbed their towels and covered up and ran. All except for Milton Berle!” Allred also said, “I want to ask for your support for the NFL cheerleaders I’m representing. If you’re an NFL player you can be penalized for taking a knee. If you’re an NFL cheerleader, it’s practically a job requirement.”

On a serious note, the club presented a check in her name to the Women’s Equal Rights Legal Defense & Education Fund.
