Bill Paxton’s doctor, hospital deny wrongdoing in his death

The doctor and hospital named in the wrongful death suit filed by Bill Paxton‘s family are denying any wrongdoing in his death.

Cedars-Sinai and Dr. Ali Khoynezhad claimed in court documents that the late actor was “aware of certain dangers and risks involved” in the surgery, according to The Blast. They also claimed Paxton had “an existing condition” that made him susceptible to complications.

They’re seeking for the case to be dismissed.

Paxton’s family filed their lawsuit earlier this year. They claim that Khoynezhad performed an unnecessary procedure last February that resulted in the “Apollo 13” star’s death 11 days later.

Paxton died on Feb. 25, 2017, of complications from surgery for an aortic aneurysm that resulted in a stroke, according to his death certificate. He was 61 years old.
