Meek Mill expected to attend 76ers game after prison release

Rapper Meek Mill will likely get his first taste of freedom at the Philadelphia 76ers game Tuesday night after he is released from jail.

Team co-owner Michael Rubin told Page Six he’s on the way to Chester State Prison to personally pick up Meek – and he’s taking the rapper to the game Tuesday night.

Rubin and Meek are longtime close friends, and the wealthy businessman was in the court when Meek was sentenced to up to four years for a probation violation. Rubin has since been a leader in the campaign to #FreeMeekMill.

Rubin told us, “I visited Meek this morning with Kevin Hart, but when we left, we learned the Supreme Court just ruled he must get immediate bail. I’m on my way back to pick him up now, and he’ll probably be out in the next few hours.”

When asked what he and Meek plan to do to celebrate his freedom after five months in jail, “We’re going to the game tonight!”

The 76ers play the Miami Heat at Wells Fargo Center in Philly at 8 p.m. Tuesday night. Whether Meek will be there depends on how fast he can be processed out of the jail.
