Scott Baio’s wife reveals brain disease diagnosis

Scott Baio‘s wife took to social media to share that she has been diagnosed with Microvascular Brain Disease.

When a Twitter user inquired about her health on Saturday, Renee Baio replied “Besides having 2 meningioma brain tumors, in Oct 2017 I also learned I have Microvascular Brain Disease.”

Scott, who has recently been accused of sexual harassment during his days on “Charles in Charge” confirmed the news.

“Unfortunately, this is true,” he wrote. “Renee is forever my rock, my life & my soulmate! Toughest person I know. ”

According to health news site, Healthline, “Microvascular ischemic disease is a term that’s used to describe changes to the small blood vessels in the brain. Changes to these vessels can damage white matter — the brain tissue that contains nerve fibers and serves as the connection point to other parts of the brain.”

The site notes that the disease is “very common” in older adults and symptoms can include loss of thinking skills or problems with walking and balance.

Renee who has been married to the actor since 2007 was also diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2015. The two are parents to Bailey Deluca, 10.

A rep for Baio did not immediately respond for request for comment.
