Rapper T-Pain is suing his booking agency – claiming they cost him nearly $30,000.
The ”Buy U a Drank” performer, real name Faheem Rashad Najm, says the United Talent Agency failed to ensure he collected the thousands owed for a series of performances in 2017, including a show at the Fashion Meets Music Festival in Ohio.
He was supposed to be paid $50,000 total for the FMM Festival, the papers say,
The 32-year-old ”Booty Wurk” singer alleges he was due to receive $12,500 up front, $12,500 the next month and then another $25,000 in the final month before the performance.
While T-Pain did receive some funds, the festival’s follow-up check of $35,000 bounced, the complaint says.
The papers claim UTA didn’t tell him the check was a dud until after he performed in August 2017 – and only after the performer asked where his money was.
With FMM headed for bankruptcy, the suit, citing breach of contract, is suing UTA for the remaining $27,000 owed, plus interest.
UTA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
