Don’t take it personally, Taylor … Ed O’Neill just can’t recognize celebrities.
O’Neill, 71, sat down with Ellen DeGeneres and revealed that he had another celebrity faux pas with Taylor Swift, 28. He told DeGeneres, 59, that he attended “Modern Family” costar Sarah Hyland’s birthday party and made small chat with a blonde that he couldn’t recognize.
“I know she’s famous, but I can’t place her,” he said.
They decided to take a selfie, and he sent it to his daughter Sophia, 18, for help identifying her.
“And she said, ‘I’m having you committed,'” he laughed.
“I did say, ‘Nice to meet you, Taylor’ when I left the party,” he added.
He also admitted that he couldn’t recognize Randy Jackson at a restaurant and didn’t realize he was speaking to Michael Jackson when he handed him his phone.
O’Neill previously failed to recognize Britney Spears at an airport last year, but still took a selfie with her. It went viral, but he had no idea why until his manager told him.
