Amy Robach will replace Elizabeth Vargas as anchor on ABC News’ “20/20” when Vargas officially steps down in May, according to sources.
“Nothing is etched in stone yet, but she will be juggling [‘Good Morning America’] and ‘20/20.’ She’s the frontrunner, but it’s not official,” an insider told us.
Vargas announced her exit in a memo to colleagues that leaked on Friday, forcing the network to confirm the news. “I will be leaving ABC News and ‘20/20′’ at the end of this historic 40th season . . . I am incredibly lucky to work alongside the very best in the business,” she wrote.
She’ll continue at the network until May.
