Jason Priestley says he punched Harvey Weinstein in the face in 1995

Jason Priestley claims he punched Harvey Weinstein in the face at a party in 1995.

On Friday, after Peter Jackson confirmed Weinstein blacklisted Mira Sorvino and Ashley Judd from being cast in “Lord of The Rings,” Tara Strong tweeted, “Wouldn’t be surprised if this happened to my good friend @Jason_Priestley who punched Weinstein in the face at a club one night. Go Jay.”

The “Beverly Hills, 90210” actor then took to social media to explain what went down at the Golden Globes bash.

“Of course there is more to the story,” Priestley, 48, wrote, explaining that the altercation occurred at the Miramax Golden Globes party.

The actor said Weinstein told him to leave the party and on his way out Weinstein “grabbed him by the arm” and asked him what he was doing.

Weinstein then allegedly told Priestley he never said Priestley had to leave.

“He then grabs me tighter and says ‘why don’t we go outside and talk about this.’ That was all I needed to hear,” he wrote.

“‘I’m not going anywhere with you’ I said as I pushed him back and punched him with a right hand to his face,” Priestley explained, adding that security pulled the pair apart and escorted him out of the party.

Priestley also said his team was “horrified” when they’d heard what happened and “strongly advised” him to apologize to the disgraced producer.

A rep for Weinstein did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
