It’s over for Selena Gomez and The Weeknd.
The couple has broken up after 10 months of dating, People reports. The split comes after multiple recent sightings of Gomez and ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber hanging out. Last week, Gomez was seen coming and going from Bieber’s house, and they were spotted together again on Sunday grabbing breakfast and heading to church.
According to People, distance complicated the relationship between Gomez, 25, and 27-year-old The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye.
“She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship,” a source told the magazine. “It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them.”
Apparently, the split was a long time coming.
“It’s been hard for them to come to the realization that this is the direction things were heading, but it’s been hard for months,” the source added.
