Benedict Cumberbatch ‘disgusted’ by Harvey Weinstein revelations

This biopic is now a disaster movie!

The star of The Weinstein Company’s next big movie — and only 2017 Oscar hope — trashed accused perv Harvey Weinstein on Thursday, as the company weighs pushing the film’s release back.

“I am utterly disgusted by the continuing revelations of Harvey Weinstein’s horrifying and unforgivable actions,” said Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Thomas Edison in the forthcoming “The Current War,” Vanity Fair reported.

“There has to be zero tolerance of any such behavior in any walk of life. We owe that to these women’s bravery in coming forward.”

The film is currently slated for release Nov. 24, but may now be held until 2018, as dozens of women hurl accusations of sexual assault and harassment against the lecherous film mogul, the Wall Street Journal reports. If that happens, it won’t be eligible for the next Academy Awards.

The movie production company fired Weinstein on Sunday, but has already taken a financial hit from the scandal after one of its financiers pulled a $45 million loan.

The business’s other executives — including Harvey’s brother and co-founder, Bob — have tried to distance themselves from the scandal, saying they had no idea what was going on.

But a New York Times report Thursday revealed the company was alerted in 2015 that Harvey had made several cash settlements in connection with sexual harassment allegations.

The Weinstein Company was already struggling to rake in big box-office takes, rave reviews and awards well before Harvey’s accusers came forward — all three metrics have been slumping since 2012, according to a MarketWatch report.
