Tyrese investigated by children’s services over abuse allegations

Tyrese Gibson and ex-wife Norma’s custody battle is taking an ugly turn.

TMZ reported that the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services is investigating Tyrese, 38, over claims that he struck his 10-year-old daughter so much that she couldn’t sit. Norma also claimed in court Tuesday that the “Fate of the Furious” actor “beat” Shayla between 12 and 16 times.

His ex is seeking a permanent restraining order that would prohibit him from physically disciplining their daughter. Norma also wants the judge to grant her full physical and legal custody.

Page Six has reached out to Tyrese’s attorney for comment.

While their legal battle plays out in court, Tyrese has been using social media to win in the court of public opinion. Turning to Instagram, the actor has shared photos of Shayla, where he has written emotional, cryptic captions about the goings-on in their family.

“One day we’re going to sit down over tea and laugh about how they tried to turn us on each-other and what they didn’t know is that it only solidified our lifetime #DaddyDaughterBond that will never ever ever be broken,” Tyrese wrote. “Praying for you everyday angel I love you and I’m holding onto every laugh and every moment……. Love and light…… Watch how your father rose above and stayed centered in the middle of this unexpected storm – A set back is merely a set UP for many many amazing things to come……”

He also directly referenced their custody battle in another post.

“…If I was really and truly what they say how could one possibly go from 80/20 to 70/30 to 60/40 to 50/50 custody in my favor,” he wrote. “In the end it’s ONLY the kids that suffer when the parents are at it.”

Tyrese accused Norma of being resentful that he remarried.
