Hugh Hefner’s Walk of Fame star vandalized

Someone paid tribute to Hugh Hefner in the wrong way.

An unknown person vandalized the Playboy founder’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this weekend, drawing a blue crown above his name. No arrests have been made.

Because the star is a registered state landmark, the vandal would have to pay restitution to have the star cleaned up and polished again, a spokesperson for the Walk of Fame told Page Six on Monday.

The spokesperson added that the Walk of Fame believes there was no “malintent” in the graffiti, saying the scrawler likely wanted to “pay tribute” to the iconic publisher, who died last week at age 91. The vandal opted to use an “oil pastel-like crayon” instead of spray paint.

Hefner’s family held a private memorial Saturday, attended by a select few of his closest friends and family members, TMZ reported. His four children, wife Crystal Harris and some key Playboy staffers also paid their respects at LA’s Westwood Village Memorial Park.
