New York’s ‘creepy’ party crasher is back

Priyantha De Silva, the infamous criminal New York party crasher who infiltrated society soirees through a series of imaginative frauds, is apparently back at it again.

De Silva was spotted this week at a bash for Polaroid’s 80th anniversary “creeping out young fashionistas [and] claiming he was an Oscar-winning producer.”

De Silva, who went to jail for fourth-degree grand larceny, was busted in 2010 at the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center’s gala for buying a $150 ticket to get in and then a $1,500 Prada bag during the event’s silent auction with a fake Bank of America credit card.

His previous playbook at Manhattan events also included posing as high-powered editors and as the producer of the Oscar-winning movie “Crash.”

But, despite his stint in jail, he doesn’t appear to have learned his lesson.

“One group of girls he was talking to at the Polaroid party said he was really creepy,” said a guest who recognized De Silva.

“Another pair of women said he had told them he’d won several Oscars for Best Picture! Crazy.” Yet another unsuspecting guest at the Polaroid party, thrown with photographer Ryan McGinley (who has no connection to the crasher), claims De Silva told her “he works with Lady Gaga!”

Party people, be on the lookout. You have been warned.
