Singer Charlotte Church suffers miscarriage

Charlotte Church announced Monday that she and boyfriend Jonathan Powell have lost their unborn baby.
The Welsh singer tweeted the tragic news this evening: “Charlotte and Jonny [sic] are very sad to announce that they lost their baby. Now is a time for grieving and being together as a family. We kindly ask everyone to respect that peace.”
The 31-year-old star announced she was pregnant with partner Powell’s baby live on stage on May 28 at Birmingham Pride.
It is believed the child was due in November, after the singer had said she hadn’t ruled out having more children earlier this year.
It was claimed three weeks ago she had posted a job online for childcare help that said the position would be for a “VIP family” who live near Cardiff — but the ad was later taken down.

Church and musician Powell have been dating since late 2010.
They met through work not long after she separated from ex-fiance Gavin Henson, a former Welsh rugby star.
On their relationship, she previously told The Telegraph: “Well, I’m really happy with my dude. He’s lush, he’s so smart, and he really looks after me.”
Powell is a singer, songwriter and producer and lives with Church near Cardiff.
She told The Guardian in May: “There are members of my family who are ill at the moment so generally I’m running around. We’ve got two dogs. We travel. And we just try to have lots of fun. And now it’s great, it’s lovely. I don’t know if I’ll ever be a party girl again. It feels very different this time around.”
After the Welsh star made the sad announcement about losing her baby, fans were quick to post messages of sympathy.
One person tweeted: “I am so, so sorry Charlotte. Sending so much love to you all.”
Another wrote: “My deepest and heartfelt sorry for your heartbreaking loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this awful time. God bless you.”
She has two children from her previous relationship with Henson — 9-year-old Ruby and 8-year-old Dexter.
