“Orange Is the New Black” star Dascha Polanco presented at the Hearst Magazines Fragrance Foundation Awards and admitted, “I used to sell Carolina Herrera perfume in Macy’s on 34th Street. I worked there for three years.”
And with “OITNB” back for Season 5, Polanco told us, “I was thinking success does not change you — fame does. I felt like because of what I do, I have to be more conscious of the people I have around me and the decisions that I make . . . I am learning to balance the Brooklyn girl with red-carpet Dascha. This is who I am. I want to do right. I am not a bad person, but I was born to do this.”
She recently said Hollywood only wants “fake Latinas” who are superthin, and that there’s no place for real Latinas with curves.
