Even Gwyneth Paltrow thinks Goop’s advice is ridiculous

Gwyneth Paltrow may promote walking around barefoot to cure psychosomatic disorders and endorse inserting stone eggs in one’s “lady parts,” but that doesn’t mean she takes part in either of those out-there activities.

When Jimmy Kimmel grilled Paltrow about  the practice of “earthing” written about on her site Goop, she confessed that she is actually pretty clueless.

“I don’t actually know that much about earthing, and it came out of me not knowing anything about earthing but hearing about it,” she said. “They say that we’ve lost touch with being barefoot in the earth and there’s some sort of electromagnetic thing that we’re missing, and so it’s good to take your shoes off and walk in the grass.”

She bluntly added, “I don’t know what the f—k we talk about.”

When asked about squatting while urinating, the 44-year-old admitted, “I don’t know [if it’s good for you]. I never read that before.”

When Kimmel addressed Goop’s infamous jade eggs, Paltrow didn’t falter much.

“So the jade egg is an ancient Chinese practice where women insert the jade egg in their lady parts to help tone the pelvic floor … I need to start preaching what I practice,” she admitted.

Still, ever the saleswoman, Paltrow soldiered on.

“We sell tons of them. Women have had incredible results,” she insisted. “It acts as a small weight and so I suppose it tones the pelvic floor. There are women who are really good at practicing this and they say it’s really good for balancing hormones and has all kinds of amazing benefits.”
