Gwyneth Paltrow once did a seven-week cleanse

Gwyneth Paltrow has a hard life, at least when she’s on a cleanse.

“I’ve done everything from a one-day gall bladder flush to a seven-week nightmare,” Paltrow, 44, told Net-a-Porter’s The Edit in an interview released Thursday.

“It’s great for eliminating bloat and firming your skin and just feeling your best,” she insisted, but added, “I can’t be on a cleanse all the time … I did one for seven weeks last year and it was awful … At home, I loosen the reins: a glass of wine, maybe a baguette dripping in cheese, some fries. On vacation, I eat what I want — and there’s no exercising, either.”

The Oscar winner also admitted she can’t work out as much as she used to because her age is catching up with her.

“I used to exercise for two hours a day … An hour of cardio and an hour of weights. But there’s just no time anymore,” she said. “I’m getting old, my back hurts! It’s depressing. Some days, the gym gives me this rush of energy and I feel amazing, but then my body’s like, ‘F—k you.’”

Aside from dieting and exercise, Paltrow also takes pride in her “conscious uncoupling” divorce announcement (which she previously said wasn’t even her idea).

“People are coming around [to the phrase],” she said. “I know it’s a dorky term, but it’s very worthwhile. I’m always the person who gets s—t at first, but then later people say, ‘Hey, maybe that’s a good idea.’ I don’t mind.”

She added of her constant struggle as the daughter of an actress and a producer, as well as a proponent of vaginal steaming, “I’ve had an extraordinary life, where things have happened in a huge way – huge success, huge joy, huge pain, huge loss. And the reason I feel happy today is because I’ve milked the f—k out of every opportunity,” she said. “I haven’t made one mistake that I haven’t used as a stepping stone to get somewhere else.”

The “Iron Man” star, whose Goop site sells quartz and jade eggs for the vagina, added, “I’m ruthless when it comes to using the hard things.”
