Arnold was really fired — by bad ratings, says President Trump.
The tweeter-in-chief on Saturday couldn’t resist a dig at his “Celebrity Apprentice” successor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who announced a day earlier that he’s quitting the NBC show.
“Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t voluntarily leaving the Apprentice, he was fired by his bad (pathetic) ratings, not by me. Sad end to great show,” Trump tweeted at 8:19 am.
Schwarzenegger was quick to respond.
Schwarzenegger and Trump have traded barbs on social media since the election. The president asked the audience at last month’s National Prayer Breakfast to “pray” for the former California governor because of the show’s low ratings.
Schwarzenegger then posted a video offering to switch jobs with Trump so that “people can finally sleep comfortably again.”
