Justine Bateman’s response to ‘Family Ties’ play: ‘Ew’

Justine Bateman — who starred in ’80s TV hit “Family Ties” and is the sister of Jason Bateman — is not enthusiastic that there’s a stage play of the show in the works.

Bateman, who will graduate from UCLA in June with a degree in computer science, tweeted, “Ew, ew, ew, ew,” in response to a Variety report that “Family Ties” will become a play backed by a producer of “Wicked.” (The show’s debuting far from Broadway, in Dayton, Ohio, near where the series was set.)

Bateman, who will be 50 when she earns her degree, has said, “When I graduate, I will either run a division of a company . . . or I’ll get funding for my own company.”

Meanwhile, brother Jason will next star in “Office Christmas Party” with Jennifer Aniston.
