NBC chief jokes that she’d throw her kid into gorilla enclosure

NBC News chief Deborah Turness offered up her 3-year-old daughter to break into zoo enclosures as motivation for the news team to come up with more creative suggestions to cover the horrific Harambe controversy.

In NBC’s daily news meeting on Tuesday, “She asked, ‘Shall I strap a GoPro to my 3-year-old and let her go to the Bronx Zoo and try to see how easily she can get into enclosures?’ ” an insider told us.

But Turness’ peculiar plan failed to inspire. “People were stunned, and said they’d prefer to toss Deborah into a gorilla enclosure,” said the source. Another person at the meeting told us, “Obviously, she wasn’t seriously making that suggestion, and no one in the room, in their right minds, thought she was.”
