Usher joined former champ Sugar Ray Leonard at the Big Fighters, Big Cause charity boxing event in LA to auction off tickets to the premiere of the performer’s upcoming film, “Hands of Stone.”
Usher plays boxing legend Leonard in the movie about rival Roberto Durán. The lot included an after-party ticket and vintage boxing gloves signed by co-star Robert De Niro.
The event benefitted Leonard’s foundation, and VIPs in the crowd included Magic Johnson and Lisa Rinna. Usher recently debuted the film in Cannes with De Niro, Édgar Ramírez and Durán.
“These guys, they put themselves through — literally — hell in preparation for these fights,” Usher told Entertainment Weekly at the fest.
