Don Cheadle had to restrain himself from ambushing Taylor Swift’s Grammy speech Monday night.
“I almost Kanyed tonight. #Restraint #Temperance @KendrickLamar #Albumoftheyear,” the 51-year-old actor tweeted after the show.
Swift, 26, won album of the year for “1989,” beating out Kendrick Lamar’s “To Pimp A Butterfly,” which earned him four of five of his trophies of the night.
Earlier in the evening, Cheadle introduced the rapper, 28, who took the stage to perform “Alright” and “The Blacker the Berry” from his latest album.
Cheadle’s tweet is an obvious reference to Kanye West crashing Swift’s MTV Video Music Awards acceptance speech for Best Female Video in 2009. West unapologetically slammed Swift, saying Beyoncé deserved the award more.
