Josh Duggar molestation victim plans to sue

It might be time for Josh Duggar to finally face the music.

The non-family member the reality star molested is ready to bring him to court, according to In Touch Weekly.

The magazine reports the still-unnamed woman plans to file a civil suit against the 27-year-old for molesting her when she was a teen.

In May, Duggar admitted to molesting five young girls, four of whom were his sisters, when he was a teenager.

“I have heard that a [non-family] victim is preparing to sue,” a “law enforcement insider” told In Touch. “This whole sordid affair with Josh rattled a lot of people, including the victim, who has had to relive this nightmare all over again after watching Josh’s parents go on TV and whitewash what happened.”

Following the shocking revelations concerning Josh, it came out that his parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, knew about their son’s disgusting behavior (he confessed to them multiple times) but did nothing to curtail it for a full year, other than to put locks on their daughters’ doors. Eventually, Josh and his sisters are said to have been sent to counseling

According to the magazine’s source, it’s not that surprising that the woman, reportedly a baby sitter, wants to take Josh to court now.

“She may have repressed it or processed it in her own way, but Josh’s public admission that he did something wrong — and how Jim Bob and Michelle handled everything on TV — surely had to affect her,” the insider said. “I’ve seen it happen many times: Victims eventually want closure and justice served.”

As has been much discussed, the statute of limitations on Josh’s crimes has expired, but a civil suit would force the family to finally address what actually happened. It could also result in monetary compensation.

And because Josh’s testimony wouldn’t send him to jail, he and his parents would be compelled to answer any and all questions about the molestations once and for all.

If a civil suit is filed against Josh, it could spell doom for the family’s TV show “19 Kids and Counting,” which despite having been pulled from the air by TLC has yet to be canceled by the network.
