Price slashed on Lauren Bacall’s swanky Dakota abode

The estate of Lauren Bacall has reduced the price of the gorgeous Dakota residence where the screen siren lived for more than 50 years from $26 million to $23.5 million.

It was owned by Bacall since 1961, when she reportedly bought it for between $28,000 and $48,000, until her death in August last year.

According to the listing, Bacall maintained the 4,000-square-foot apartment’s prewar details, including mahogany paneling, original hardwood floors and carvings on the heavy wood doors.

The three-bedroom, 3 ¹/₂-bath home has five rooms directly overlooking Central Park, an 18-foot entry foyer, a master bedroom with a walk-in closet, library with Juliet balconies, a great room and a formal dining room.

The price drop indicates the property needs some modernization, but its preserved status gives an insight into how the screen icon lived.

Other residents at the storied Dakota at 1 W. 72nd St. include Maury Povich, Connie Chung, Roberta Flack, financier Wilbur Ross and Yoko Ono.
