Rory Kennedy, director of Oscar-nominated documentary “Last Days in Vietnam,” was fêted by family and friends including Maria Shriver and Minnie Driver at a Hollywood luncheon.

Rory, the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy, was toasted by cousin Shriver, sister-in-law Cheryl Hines, and actors Driver, Julian Sands and Peter Fonda at Friday’s lunch on the terrace of the Chateau Marmont, hosted by Dom Pérignon.

“Last Days of Vietnam” focuses on the final days of the war, when the US abandoned the embassy in Saigon.

Rory told Page Six the film has lessons that continue to be relevant: “I think we didn’t do a very good job of getting out of Vietnam, so there are lessons about not doing the same thing again. We basically abandoned our allies, leaving people that we promised we’d get out, and not having proper evacuation plans.”

She added: “There are people who worked with the Americans who face greater vulnerability because of that relationship. You look out for people and fulfill your promises — the same goes in war and in our relationships with other countries. There’s a responsibility that we didn’t really stand up to, so there’s lessons about how to exit a war. By the end of a war, you can lose control and lose the war.”

Others at the luncheon included André Balazs, Todd Eberle, Carlos Souza and Nicole Ruvo.
