Fallon welcomes baby, ‘Tonight Show’ tapings canceled

The Tonight Showhas encountered another hiccup, but this time for a good reason.

Host Jimmy Fallon and wife Nancy Juvonen welcomed their second child via surrogate Wednesday, causing the show’s tapings to get canned for Wednesday and Thursday, an NBC rep tells Page Six.

Fallon, 40, and Juvoven, 47, welcomed baby girl Frances Cole Fallon at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, a rep for the couple tells Page Six. Baby Frances joins 1-year-old sister Winnie, who was also born through a surrogate.

The pair’s baby news comes as a surprise, as “The couple opted to keep their baby joy to themselves until their new daughter, Frances Cole, made her official debut,” said the duo’s rep. “Both Fallon babies were born via surrogate.”

The show’s spokesperson explained this week’s run-down: “Due to unexpected but delightful circumstances, ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ has had to cancel tapings for [Wednesday and Thursday]. Wednesday’s repeat airing will include Daniel Radcliffe, Mike Tyson and musical guest Sturgill Simpson and Thursday’s repeat guests are Gordon Ramsay, Fallonventions and musical guest Little Big Town.

“We look forward to resuming original episodes in the very near future,” the rep added.

Page Six reported last week that “The Tonight Show” was sent into emergency mode after Bono‘s injuries in a Central Park bike crash forced his band, U2, to cancel a week-long “residency” on the NBC show. “About 70 percent of the entire show for the week involved U2,” a source said.
