‘Honey Boo Boo’ canceled

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” has been canceled, a day after it was reported that June “Mama June” Shannon is dating Mark McDaniel, a convicted sex offender.

Despite an entire new season having been shot and ready to go, TLC decided to can the reality series on Friday.

The network tells Page Six, “TLC has canceled the series ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately. Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being.”

McDaniel was released in March after serving 10 years in prison for molesting an 8-year-old, who is allegedly related to Mama June. He is currently registered as a sex offender in the state of Georgia.

Michael McDaniel, McDaniel’s son, told E! News that despite photographic evidence of Mama June, 35, and Mark, 53, rekindling their romance, “They are not dating, it’s been 10 years.”

Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, Mama June’s daughter, also squashed dating rumors Thursday. “They story is not true,” she told Radar Online. “My mom left Mark 10 years ago. They haven’t seen nor talked [to each other] in 10 years.”

She also says her mom is putting the kids forward. “She only needs us girls, no one else. We are all sticking together as one happy family with us four girls,” she said.

All of this comes just one month after Mama June and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s father, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, called it quits.

Shortly after the announcement, Mama June released a statement on the official Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson Facebook page.

“I would not ever ever ever put my kids in danger,” she said in a short video recording. “I love my kids too much. That is my past. I have not seen that person in 10 years, and don’t seem to want to see that person.”
