Mama June might want to think twice about her new man.
The 35-year-old reality star, whose real name is June Shannon, is said to be dating a registered sex offender who molested one of her relatives, reports TMZ.
Shannon’s new boyfriend is 53-year-old Mark McDaniel, who was convicted of aggravated child molestation in 2004, for forcing oral sex upon the then-8-year-old, who the website claims is related to the “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star.
McDaniel was released in March, after serving 10 years. He is registered as a sex offender in Georgia.
At the time of the molestation, Shannon and McDaniel were dating.
According to the website, Shannon and McDaniel have been back together for a few months, with the television personality sneaking away from set for secret rendezvous.
Understandably, TLC, the network that airs “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” isn’t thrilled by the news and admitted that the show’s future is now in doubt.
“TLC is not currently in production on ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.’ We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series,” the network said in a statement.
The news of Shannon’s new relationship comes a month after she and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s father, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, announced they were breaking up.
At the time it was rumored that Thompson’s infidelity was the reason for the split, a claim that he denied.
