Hoda Kotb to cameo in Ray Rice-inspired ‘Law & Order’

Law & Order: SVU” is working on a “ripped-from-the-headlines” episode based on the NFL’s Ray Rice and his domestic violence scandal that will feature a cameo by Hoda Kotb.

The “Today” host, who has done one previous appearance on the show, says she’s excited to be back.

“Last time I interviewed a Lindsay Lohan-type girl,” she told us. “I am playing myself. This time I interview a guy — it’s like a ‘ripped from the headlines’ — a football player who hits his wife.”

Kotb says she’d like to do more acting.

“It’s a blast,” she said. “I was rehearsing . . . I do live TV, but I was like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t screw this up’ . . . It’s funny how when you’re in a different lane, you want to get it just right.”

The episode airs on NBC on Nov. 19.
