Branson: Virgin Galactic born from frustration with NASA

Richard Branson’s inspiration to go into rocket science was born out of frustration.

He said on a panel at the American Museum of Natural History, “I saw the moon landing and thought NASA would one day build spaceships for you and I to go up into space. I got older and older and older and it didn’t happen . . . I thought screw it, let’s do it and try to find some brilliant engineers.”

His Virgin Galactic, which announced a partnership with Grey Goose, has signed up 800 people for flights starting in 2015.
