“Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland has filed a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend claiming he threatened to kill her and set her house on fire.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, Hyland claims ex-boyfriend Matthew Prokop choked and threatened the actress’s life. In the documents Hyland states that, “His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life.”
Things got so bad that Hyland set up an intervention with her ex-boyfriend and asked co-star Julie Bowen to come help keep the peace. According to TMZ, when Prokop showed up to the house he freaked out and started yelling at Hyland. Bowen stepped in and told the guy to get lost.
Prokop has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the actress and her dog.
