Sean Penn’s son got into an altercation with a photographer while visiting a Beverly Hills office with his dad on Tuesday.
In a video posted by TMZ, the 19-year-old pushed past and possibly made contact with a male photographer and the two began a heated verbal exchange.
Hopper continued walking into the building, shot his middle finger and then called the photographer, an African American, a homosexual and racist slur.
Police showed up at the scene and the photographer declined to press charges. No one was cited.
Hopper later issued a statement to TMZ, saying, “I was accosted by paparazzi and made to feel like an animal – threatened and under attack, but that does not condone my own actions….I deeply regret my choice of words.”
The older Penn has never been a fan of the paparazzi either. In 2010, the Oscar winner kicked a photographer and famously attacked two British journalists when the actor was with Madonna.
