Fifth Ave. parade

Bob Schrijver, a real-estate developer, and his bride Cathy Chermol, a TV producer, stopped Fifth Avenue traffic the other day after swapping vows as they led a procession of 150 guests from St. Thomas Church to the Metropolitan Club for the reception. “Tourists snapping away. Traffic police holding back honking cabs, and wondering why nobody told them there was a parade,” said one witness. “New York, at its creative best!” William Michaels, the lead of “South Pacific,” dashed down from the Vivian Beaumont between his matinee and evening shows to sing “Some Enchanted Evening,” giving Stan Rubin and his big band a break. Guests stayed until 1 a.m. Revelers included Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue, Bob and Lee Woodruff, Rosanna Scotto, Jeanine Pirro, Dr. Keith Ablow, Jane Whitney and Jill Martin.
