ATTORNEY’S PRISON POWWOW

LAWYER RON Kuby recently traveled to the maximum-security federal prison in Lewisburg, Pa., to visit with Leonard Peltier, the American Indian militant convicted of murdering two FBI agents in 1975 at the Pine Ridge Res ervation. Kuby has known Peltier over the phone since 1984, when his late partner, William Kunstler, represented the prisoner. “This was the first time I’d met him in person,” Kuby told Page Six. “He has an amazing spirit. He’s spent 30 years in prison for a crime even the government agrees he didn’t com mit.” Peltier, who comes up for parole again next year, was recently in the news when it was revealed that one reason David Geffen is not support ing Hillary Clinton for president is because Bill Clinton, when he was president, refused to pardon Peltier and pardoned billionaire Marc Rich instead. Kuby said Kunstler had contacted the first lady’s office on Peltier’s behalf during Clinton’s first term.
