SCENT TOO STRONG

WITH so much going on, reporters covering the Oscars often feel like they’re in the wrong place at the wrong time. VanityFair.com blogger Jessica Coen went to the Miramax party at the Sunset Tower to celebrate the nominations for “The Queen” and “Venus,” but she didn’t stay long. “The entire room was illuminated by Jo Malone candles, making for an overwhelmingly aromatic event . . . my Champagne tasted like lavender and amber,” Coen wrote. “While I was there (and it was on the early side), I only saw Michael Sheen.” Had she stayed, she would have seen Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Helen Mirren, Peter O’Toole and Julian McMahon.
