Four guys. Two sets of brothers. Two coasts. Two countries. Four albums. One love. That amounts to a total of fifteen something’s, all equally important to the end result which is Nervous Nellie. A colourful blend of Stockholm, Chicago & the small town of Falkenberg. Perhaps these fifteen somethings are what solely make these people so marvellous. Maybe Nervous Nellie is solely marvellous because they let us laugh & cry without indignity. For their fourth full-length effort, “Where The Nightmare Gets In”, the band teamed up with Swedish producer Andreas Söderlund for the majority of the process (three tracks were produced by Henrik Jonzon). They hammered it out in studios around Stockholm (Decibel, Fashion Police, Roosters productions) as well as in Malmö (Studio Värmen). Parts of the album were even recorded in the bands rehearsal space and in Henriks apartment. Great effort was made to catch the demos initial magic and produce them into versatile, playable and worthwhile Nervous Nellie songs. The end result is in many ways a departure for the band. Musically leaning more toward a structured up-tempo and lyrically diving into notions of longing and the loss of hopes & dreams past. Basically being fucked over & fucking over. All whilst gazing eagerly into the future. Amongst the surprises on this album is Nervous Nellies first ever duet. “You’re so sad” is an eerie piece with angelical vocals courtesy of the talented Paloma Faith.
