Since the late '80s, Bay Area punks the Parasites have been giving James Brown a run for his money in the hard work game. Issuing a bushel load of 7" singles and compilations on punk labels like Shredder, Go Kart and Rocco, the band also found time to issue several full-length releases. Pair and Punch Lines both came out in 1994 on Shredder Records, Rat Ass Pie came out in 1998 and in 1999 Go Kart issued a singles collection called Compost, which included some interesting covers including the Dictators "Loyola," the Avengers' "No Martyr," the Descendents' "Pep Talk," and Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne." ~ Stacia Proefrock
