Rebels add commitment from Rivals250 WR Samari Reed

Ole Miss continued its holiday weekend momentum on Thursday, landing a commitment from Rivals250 wide receiver Samari Reed.

Reed, a 6-foot-3, 185-pounder from Coconut Creek (Monarch), Fla., is ranked by Rivals as the No. 149 prospect nationally. He's the No. 30 wide receiver nationally.

Reed picked Ole Miss over more than 20 other schools, including Southeastern Conference foes Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

"Reed is one of the most intriguing prospects in Florida, armed with a great frame and two-way game to this point," Rivals.com national recruiting analyst John Garcia Jr. said. "There is a seemingly untapped ceiling with his prospects at wide receiver. He racked up more than 1,000 yards in 2023 in a variety of ways, making plays both down the field and certainly after the catch with his lengthy frame.

" Reed has battled some injuries in the offseason so he hasn’t been scouted as much as others at the position, but there is a camp in south Florida firm on the thought that the newest Rebel may have the most potential of any pass catcher in the region. A competitor who plays with a quiet edge, this could age as a banner win for Lane Kiffin and company as the cycle comes to a close in early next year."

Earlier this week, Ole Miss landed a commitment from Rivals250 defensive back Cortez Thomas. The Rebels are considered a leader for defensive back Major Preston, who is set to announce his decision later this weekend.

Ole Miss now has 12 commitments for the 2025 recruiting class.
