Kanye West Reveals 'Donda 2' Will Be Released Exclusively On His Stem Player Device, Declares 'No One Can Pay Me To Be Disrespected'

Kanye West has big plans for Donda 2.

The rapper, who legally changed his name to Ye, announced the upcoming album will be released exclusively on Stem Player.

According to NME, Stem Player is a device he dropped with the first Donda album last year, allowing users to remix songs. Donda was released in August 2021.

The 44-year-old announced the news on Instagram. He stressed that the new music will not be available on Apple, Amazon, Spotify nor YouTube. "Today artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes," the artist explained. "It’s time to free music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and build our own."

"You can download new music from stemplayer.com. You can play 4 different elements of the track: vocals, drums, bass and music," he explained in a follow-up post. "It also has a MP3 player available."

Ye seems excited about the project. In another Instagram post, he explained he has "that same feeling like when I first moved to New York to make it in Music. I ain’t know what was gonna happen but I knew had to move."

"After 10 albums after being under 10 contracts. I turned down a hundred million dollar Apple deal. No one can pay me to be disrespected," the father-of-four declared. "We set our own price for our art."

"Tech companies made music practically free so if you don’t do merch sneakers and tours you don’t eat. Jay Z made [streaming service] Tidal and fake media attacked him," he continued on. "Well in the words of my big brother. 'Come and get me.' I’m willing to die standing cause I ain’t living on my knees no more."

West pointed out he runs the company so he doesn't need to ask permission to do anything. "We have more things we working on," the "Famous" singer teased, wrapping up his lengthy post.

Ye also posted a photo of what appears to be the track list for the upcoming album, which has 21 song titles so far.

Donda 2 is slated for release on Tuesday, February 22, Pitchfork reported.
