So many wonderful days together manning our posts, most memorably at the Pumpkin Patch!.. Jim was always so efficient, kind and attentive to the needs of everyone..children, parents and other volunteers making sure the day was perfect for all, telling stories and keeping us entertained for the entire time there...a special man indeed..he will always be missed..

Carol and I were roommates and even though we both got married we have stayed in touch sporadically since then.
I have very find memories of the times I stopped to visit them in Durango.
Jim made an amazing recovery after being hit and dragged while watching a holiday parade as he protected his granddaughter.
Carol, my heart goes out to you, but know that you have a strong faith that will see you through. Praying for you at this difficult time.

Carol and I taught school together. After they moved to Durango we visited them. We so enjoyed their company. Jim had a fun sense of humor. He and Jerry got along well. We came up almost every year for the Town Hall ladies' event, dressing up in costumes. Jerry would help Jim on projects. We flew to Denver to see Jim when he was in the hospital. Jim and I were born the same year and we got married the same year. He loved his family, worked hard and treated his friends well. He was honest in his feelings and stated what was on his mind. I will miss his friendship. He and Jerry are having a great reunion in Heaven. God be with you Carol and family.

I've known Jim, Carol and their family since 1971. Our children grew up together. Jim was a devoted husband and father. It appeared that he delighted in his children. He loved being a firefighter, and was dedicated to his job. He will be missed and always remembered.
