We are thrilled to announce that Tū Ātea Network Services Ltd, parent of Broadtech and JDA, has acquired the assets and business of Galaxy Telco Limited, a specialist rigging and technical company performing complex RAN and DMR solutions nationwide and in the Pacific. Galaxy team members first started supporting Broadtech projects in 2007 and since this time have maintained close professional relationships and delivered large numbers of 3G, 4G, and now 5G sites. Ōtautahi Christchurch’s new mental health buildings win big award We’re thrilled to announce that Ōtautahi Christchurch’s new mental health facilities have clinched the Project of the Year - New Build International at the UK’s Design in Mental Health Awards! Opened in 2023, these Klein Architects-designed buildings at Hillmorton offer cutting-edge care for diverse needs, from adults with complex conditions to māmā/mothers and pēpi/babies and those living with eating disorders. Judges praised the biophilic design for blending nature with healthcare, benefiting both kaimahi/our team and patients. Biophilic design supports the connection to taiao or the natural environment. A big shoutout to Mana Whenua Ki Waitaha, a representative collective of the seven Ngāi Tahu rūnanga, and all collaborators for working together to create spaces that foster mental wellbeing and set a benchmark for our future projects. We are delighted to announce that an agreement has been reached with Tū Ātea to acquire 100% of The Broadtech Group. Tū Ātea (previously known as the Interim Māori Spectrum Commission) holds the rights on behalf of Māori, to an allocation of telecommunications radio spectrum as the result of an historic agreement signed between Māori and the Crown in February 2022. This is an incredibly exciting new chapter for Broadtech, where we have the opportunity to apply our expertise and resources to innovative new use cases and enable Māori social and economic development in the process. Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision has been engaged in an unprecedented programme of community-based magnetic media digitisation within indigenous communities. Rokirokitia (a Māori word that can be translated as “to preserve or care for” is the name of this important project. Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision built and donated 50 #digitisation field kits to iwi/Māori groups across Aotearoa New Zealand, as well as training non-professionals in the basics of #archiving to rescue near-obsolete media and store it locally in digital formats. MEMNON and Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision have been working above and beyond to beat the race to 2025 with their digitisation efforts. #digitalpreservation #archiving #digitisation
