Texas school shooting timeline

 Salvador Ramos purchased a pair of AR-15-style rifles for his 18th birthday.

He returned the next day to buy 375 rounds of ammunition.

On the morning of the tragedy, Ramos took to Facebook saying "I’m going to shoot my grandmother." The second post was, "I shot my grandmother."

Ramos sent crypitic messages to a stranger under the alleged username "@sal8dor_".

About two-and-a-half hours later, Ramos crashed his car outside of Robb Elementary School. He then made his way into the school.

Robb Elementary School reported the incident to police at 11:35a.m. The school was placed on lockdown around 11:43 a.m.

Ramos was inside the school between 40 minutes to an hour as parents were outside begging police to to intervene as word got out about the incident.

At least 19 children and two teachers were killed. The gunman was killed at around 1:06 p.m. by police.

Students and faculty were transported to the Uvalde Civic Center where later in the day, parents of victims were told heart-wrenching news. 

Parents who could not identify their child waited for DNA results at the civic center.

Hundreds of mourners packed the bleachers lining the Uvalde Fairplex rodeo arena for a somber prayer vigil.
