Cristin Coleman, wife of ex-Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum, dead at 38

The San Francisco Giants announced that Cristin Coleman, wife of former pitcher Tim Lincecum, died earlier this summer after a battle with cancer. She was 38.

“The Giants were extremely saddened to learn of the passing of Tim Lincecum’s wife, Cristin Coleman. Our deepest condolences go out to Tim, Cristin’s family and all those whose lives she touched as a friend and teacher."

According to the San Mateo Daily Journal, Coleman was the principal of Washington Elementary School in Burlingame, California. 

Giants officials only recently learned that Coleman and Lincecum, the three-time World Series champion, had married.

Lincecum, 38, who has not formally retired, despite not pitching in the majors since 2016, has not said anything publicly regarding Coleman’s death.
