As one of Target’s flagship brands, Threshold is tough to beat. Namely, its 400 Thread Count Solid Performance Sheet Set is less than $75, is made with 100% cotton and is a material you want to wrap. yourself in all day long. Surprise, surprise: it was difficult to get out of bed most mornings.
While the fitted sheet includes a full-perimeter elastic to safely secure to your mattress, I noticed it remove itself from the lower corner of my mattress once or twice. This isn’t a dealbreaker because, for the most part, it stays put, but something to note. The thickness of your mattress may impact this as well.
For washing, you’ll appreciate its wrinkle, pill, and shrink-resistant make as well. I love how the material’s softness is long-lasting yet breathable. There are also plenty of sizes and patterns to choose from. Oh, and another thing — I’ve tested plenty of cooling sheets and other bed sheets that were $100 or more, and this compared well against them.

Best Budget Target Bed Sheets: Room Essentials Microfiber Solid Sheet Set

After reviewing this bed sheet set, I was impressed at its softness and breathability. In fact, these are the most breathable among all the Target bed sheets I tested. Additionally, they’re thoughtfully made, as the bundle is Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX certified.

Best Cotton Target Bed Sheets: Opalhouse Printed Cotton Percale Sheet Set
Target Pros:

“What caught my eye about this sheet set, even before I touched it and felt how soft the 100% cotton material is, was the bright color options — no matter which you go for, Opalhouse does not make boring sheets, and I always like pops of color or bold patterns,” Angela Tricarico, commerce writer/reporter at Decider, made note of during her review. “But that’s not the reason these became my go-to sheets for over four years now. I’m very picky about sheets and blankets; if something doesn’t feel right, I’ll be looking for alternatives immediately.”
Tricarico said these Opalhouse percale sheets are a soft, breathable cotton that stays cool and “feels like a dream every single night.” Better yet, she said they wash well and she has yet to have an issue with a set shrinking in the dryer.

How we tested
Ahead of testing each bed sheets from as short of a time as two weeks to as long of a time as four years, here’s the criteria the Post Wanted team kept in mind for each set:
- Material: Regardless if it’s cotton, jersey or a polyester blend, we reviewed each one based on what it said it was on the packaging. For instance, cotton is said to be softer while jersey is said to be more breathable.
