Rory McIlroy’s wife appears at Ryder Cup event after divorce drama

Rory McIlroy and his wife, Erica Stoll, seem to be going strong.

The couple — who called off their divorce last month after McIlroy filed documents in May — enjoyed a dinner with his fellow Ryder Cup teammates in London, as seen in a photo Diane Donald, the wife of Team Europe’s captain Luke Donald, posted Sunday to her Instagram Story.

McIlroy and Stoll were tagged in the post, as well as Tommy Fleetwood and wife Clare Fleetwood, Shane Lowry and his wife, Wendy, Tyrrell Hatton and wife Emily Hatton, and Nicolai Højgaard and his girlfriend, Amanda Falkenberg.

The Europeans dominated the Americans in Rome this past September, rolling to a 16 1/2-11 1/2 victory.

The gathering came after Donald played in the BMW International Open over the weekend in Germany.

It followed McIlroy’s crushing loss at this year’s U.S. Open on June 16 — and a media firestorm about his personal life.

McIlroy’s May 13 divorce filing, which cited an “irrevocably broken” marriage, was voluntarily dismissed by a court in Palm Beach County, Fla., where the couple lives, Page Six confirmed last month.

“There have been rumors about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumor is a fool’s game,” McIlroy, 35, told The Guardian in a statement they published on June 11.

“Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”

McIlroy and Stoll were then spotted out together with their 3-year-old daughter, Poppy, the day after Bryson DeChambeau edged McIlroy by a single stroke on the 18th hole at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina to win his second U.S. Open.

They were both wearing their wedding rings at the time.

Stoll was not seen at the U.S. Open amid the divorce buzz.

At the time, McIlroy was the subject of romance rumors involving CBS reporter Amanda Balionis — who never addressed the buzz.

Balionis, who married former NFL quarterback Bryn Renner in 2022, interviewed McIlroy after he won the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow golf course in Charlotte on May 12, shortly before the news of his divorce filing was made public.

McIlroy will return to play this week at the Genesis Scottish Open, which begins Thursday in Scotland.
